Standing Committees

Four standing committees have been established to oversee various aspects of Field to Market’s program and to make formal recommendations to the Board of Directors and General Assembly. These committees will have a number of responsibilities including developing and refining metrics; establishing verification protocols for sustainability claims; developing education and outreach materials to accelerate continuous improvement; and establishing awards and recognition programs for outstanding growers and supply chain partners.

To ensure balanced representation and engagement from across our membership, no organization may serve on more than two standing committees, unless the vacancy would otherwise go unfilled.  Associate members are excluded from serving on standing committees.

The Innovative Finance Committee continues the work of the ad hoc Innovative Finance Workgroup formed in 2021. It explores creative finance mechanisms to support U.S. farmers in scaling conservation practices and sustainable outcomes. The Committee has conducted a landscape assessment and published a report highlighting creative finance/incentive mechanisms currently being utilized or considered by the supply chain to accelerate sustainability at the farm level.
The Committee also supports the Board and broader membership in gaining a deeper understanding of barriers to conservation adoption and how certain finance/incentive mechanisms can help create necessary enabling conditions.

Eligibility: Full members only

Term: Two years

Size: Twenty members (four from each sector)
