The Field to Market Approach

A Unified Alliance for a Resilient Future

Our work centers on value chain alignment and science-based measurement. We bring partners together around shared methods and collaborative programs, so progress is measurable, comparable, and actionable.

Grounded in real-world use, the Alliance grows through collective learning, sharing best practices, and refining approaches that advance resilient outcomes for U.S. food, feed, fiber, and fuel production.

Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration

Consensus-Driven Collaboration That Aligns the Value Chain Around an Outcomes-Based Sustainability Approach

The Field to Market approach is pre‑competitive and consensus‑driven by design, built to enable data-driven agriculture sustainability at scale. We convene growers, agribusinesses, brands, retailers, civil society, academia, and public partners to establish common ground on how sustainability is defined, measured and advanced.

This collaboration is grounded in real institutional relationships, including strategic partnerships with data platforms, research organizations, and public agencies that help extend alignment and reduce duplication.

  • Building Trust

By establishing shared rules of the road and a common measurement framework, we reduce duplicative farmer data requests and increase confidence in results, so data is credible, comparable, and usable across the value chain.

  • Aligning Action

Through working groups and committees, diverse sectors agree on how to measure, benchmark, and report progress using a unified performance-based model, turning shared indicators into practical action and continuous improvement.

Data‑Driven & Science‑Based Indicators

Science-Based Measurement Grounded in the Fieldprint Platform® and Fieldprint Projects

We base our work on transparent methods and shared indicators, not guesswork. We champion data-drive agriculture to ensure environmental claims are credible.

  • Fieldprint Platform
Provides a common language, aligned with global frameworks, for benchmarking performance and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency.

  • FIeldprint Projects
This is where data is put to use. Projects use the Fieldprint Platform to track outcomes across 17 crops in U.S. agriculture, enabling members to aggregate results and credibly report on progress.

  • Fieldprint Project Standard
All measurement is supported by open documentation, ensuring a true outcomes-based approach that makes alignment with global standards easier.
